The Queen of my Heart
SHRIALI & LAKSHAY
Feb 2020 | Jaipur, India
He was 18, she was 19. When a young girl from Moscow met an innocent guy from Delhi at college in London, it was just another insignificant introduction. While she said a sweet “hi” and left it at that, he stood there, mesmerised by her smile, unable to say a word. Years went by.
They never heard from each other and one day he made a heartfelt confession to his friends. The girl he had met in London had always been on his mind, and her smile had never really left his memory in the six long years. Pumped by the solid backing from his friends, he excitedly sent her a text message. While he waited a whole day for her response, a skeptical Shriali didn’t quite know what to do about it. She finally replied to his nervous message. The moment they spoke on the phone, they forged an instant connection.
Months later they were convinced they were destined to exist as man and wife. Stories like these never cease to amaze our inner romantic - in case of Shriali and Lakshay, the two soulmates had fatefully found each other years before they were finally united in the knotted world.
Pre-Wedding
Shriali grew up in Moscow and was very sure about her pre-wedding destination from the very beginning. The striking medieval character of the city and the cold winter breeze lent that perfect romanticism to their shoot.
Cocktail Party
The cocktail party was a grand affair with all things elegant & ornate. The couple exchanged the rings and took their first steps into the knotted world of matrimony. As the evening progressed, everyone got their dancing shoes on and let loose on the sounds of the DJ and partied the night away in a big fat punjabi way!
Mehendi
The guests were welcomed to the wedding destination - The Fairmont Palace, Jaipur in a traditional Rajasthani style with local singers & dancers. Flamingoes and lush green foliage adorned the venue in true tropical style! Shriali chose a fresh turquoise Papa don’t preach ensemble while her beau looked dapper in his very own finace’s fashion label - Laxmi Shriali.

The Sangeet
Sprinkled with elements of velvet and sheen, the sangeet was a royal affair. The visibly excited couple cheered along as they watched their family & friends perform on stage for them. Post their couple dance, which they aced quite flawlessly, was a night of crazy partying!
Haldi
Kickstarting the wedding day was a lineup of traditional Punjabi events. The air echoed with laughter as family & friends ceremoniously adorned the couple in hues of yellow. Shriali playfully showered her kaleeras over her gang of girlfriends to find the next lucky one in line!
The Baraat
Lakshay’s man army made sure that they enjoyed every second of his bachelorhood as they got him ready for the big day. While enjoying a glorious orange sunset at his terrace, the gang posed for some memorable group shots. The baraat was a grand procession where Lakshay first got onto a horse followed by a sleek red vintage car. Making a majestic entry into the wedding venue, his huge smile spoke volumes of his excitement to marry the love of his life.

Bridal Dress up
Shriali chose a quintessential red Tarun Tahiliani lehenga for her big day. With traditional kundan jewellery and a sheer red veil adorning her, she looked every bit a regal Maharani.
The Varmala
As she gracefully walked towards her groom under a ‘phoolon ki chaadar’, an excited Lakshay couldn’t seem to contain his happiness. Swept away by the emotions of that moment, the onlookers cheered in jubilance. As they exchanged garlands, fireworks lit up the entire palace in the celebration of the new chapter of their lives.

The Wedding Ceremony
The wedding ceremony was a pious, yet fun affair as the couple and their families sure knew how to make each moment count. The priest too left the crowd in splits as he recited the seven vows in his own fun way. Post the pheras, the couple spent some time in each other’s company as they posed for some portraits in the City Palace hallway.

Bidai & Post Wedding Games
The air was heavy with emotions as Shriali peeked out of her doli (a tradional palanquin) and waved goodbye. Sky fireworks marked the beginning of their happily-ever-after as they arrived at Fairmont, followed by some fun games in the morning.

The Celebration Dinner
Summing up all the madness and celebrations was an intimate dinner party. A cake cutting ceremony and celebratory toast paved way for another night of dancing as a band crooned the night away. Lakshay decided to surprise his newly wedded bride with a song & left her blushing with his extravagant display of affection.
