She had a crush on him and had stalked him on Instagram too. Then like a dream come true, there he was in person at a fashion show organised by her mother. But her exuberance was shortlived; some uncool moments at the dress trials got her bracketing him into the “photos mein hi achcha tha” category.

Interestingly, the freeze was equally shortlived. Anushka got to know Aditya a lot better in barely the next few days and realised he wasn’t that bad a guy after all. The on-again off-again tumult in her mind had to be a one-off thing, she felt.

Slowly, but surely, the love story between the two played out. As we bonded with the couple, it was evident that they were madly in love with each other. The flirting glances followed by steady eye contact said it all. The wedding was only a few heartbeats away. The die had been cast.

For her bridal entry, Anushka had planned to approach a certain artist to sing a rendition of legendary Nusrat Fateh Ali’s ‘Kivein Mukhde’. She happened to mention this to Aditya. While he told her that he would tap the artist, he instead turned to us with the feeling that he could exercise his own vocal chords with the song. A couple of practice and recording sessions with him later, we were ready with the number.

The bridal walk was one that Anushka wished would never end. She was stoked that Aditya was himself crooning her favourite song. The surprise set off a whirlwind of emotions within her — she was overwhelmed, deeply moved, teary, gratified… all at once. The purity of the moment was priceless; we all encountered a little lump in our throats then.
