The laws of attraction were never meant to follow a script. Nikki and Aadhi actually bonded over personality differences; the Mills and Boon emotional latching was not for them. And boy, are they glad for that!

Aadhi’s brother, Sathya, was making his directorial debut and had chosen Nikki as the lead actress opposite Aadhi. But Aadhi was not too keen on having a relatively new face for his brother’s first film; he wanted a more seasoned actress to play the part. Sathya, though, knew what fit the bill — Nikki in real life was precisely the character he had envisaged for the role. So, two distinctly different personalities began shooting for the film, simply not what the doctor ordered.

The fire and ice combination worked magically and slowly. It took a little time for the couple to realise that they were destined to be in each other’s arms and it’s been for over a decade of togetherness now. Nikki found she needed some silence, which Aadhi’s cool demeanour offered in good measure. And Aadhi wanted some sound in his life, which an animated Nikki would provide.

Soon, marriage was on the horizon, and the couple chose Chennai for the occasion. Renowned wedding planner Ambika from A-cube décor brought their visualisation of the big day to life with an Amaltas-themed Haldi (Amaltas is the golden shower tree that symbolises prosperity and good luck), a Bali-themed Mehendi (inspired by the couple’s favourite vacation place) and a white-blossom themed wedding (symbolising infinite blooming of love and good luck).

The actors that started an alliance in reel life were now blissfully married in real life.
